I’ve been talking about grants a lot lately, so I thought I should give all of you interested readers an update. Unfortunately the grant I submitted a few weeks ago was not accepted. I was really anticipating a good outcome, but I guess that’s how it goes in the grant world -you just have to keep on trying. So that’s what I’m doing…I submitted a letter to the Surdna Foundation a couple of weeks ago and I just submitted a letter to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. If all goes well they will ask me for a full grant proposal and then, maybe, we will get one or even both of the grants. Please be praying for us as either of these grants would be incredible beneficial not only to Bedouins International but to the people we are trying to help.

So Stephen and I were in Portland last week and it was amazing. One of the highlights from the trip was meeting up with Jan from a church out there called Imago Dei. Jan has been so great, setting up meetings for us and helping us network with other artists in the Northwest and all over the country who have a passion to see art helping people in a practical and loving way. I am really looking forward to the new partnerships and friendships with Jan and all of the people we meet through her.

If any of you are ever out near Portland, you should really check out their church. They are all about serving and loving the people in their city and beyond. They even have a ministry called Love Portland where they go out and minister to the community by meeting whatever needs they find like painting houses, etc. Check out their website HERE for more info about them.
