Bon Voyage
That time has come…time for me to embark on the next Bedouins Journey with another amazing organization. Just like the other projects, this one will be filled with adventure, excitement and amazing stories that we hope to tell in fresh way.
I leave Sunday afternoon from Atlanta bound for Meto, Kenya…although it will be a solid 46 hours before I even step foot in Meto.
The team that I will be traveling with is 14 strong, the core group being from Selma, AL. Integrity Worldwide is their name, and they will be doing just about every form of outreach and humanitarian work possible, ministering through all of it.
Plans for this trip are a medical clinic (run by the 2 surgeons and 4 nurses going), dedication a library/compounds whose foundation has been laid, digging 1, maybe 2 wells, delivering 4.5 tons of seed, womens ministry, and English classes.
My job, and Bedouins’ aim for the trip is to document the scope of the work that Integrity is doing there, and to bring back footage and photos to build them a video and multi-media presentation that they will use when speaking, and on their website, as well as to provide them with compelling images of the people, the need and the great work going on in Meto for their website and mailers.
We’ll have our work cut out for us…we’ll be camping in tents with the Maasai people for the better part of the trip, no running water or electricity (I have like 3lbs of batteries!)…just us and Africa. I can’t wait.
Keep us and the trip in your prayers, and stay tuned here and at my blog…I’ll try to update if/when we have the internet. For now…I bid you good evening and a wonderful 2 weeks…be blessed!
-Stephen
