Christmas is a time of giving. Of cookies and warm drinks and story-telling. Bedouins International wants to kick off the holiday season by hosting a party for our friends and community, one complete with snacks, stories, and the chance to hang out with the people who helped us get here in the first place.

So mark it in your calendar/phone/planner: Friday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m. we will have a Night of Storytelling in Apartment #501 in the Phoenix Lofts. This will be a chance for us to reminisce and retell some of our favorite stories from the past two years, three continents, eight countries, and a plethora of projects. It’ll be a time to say “thank you” to those of you who have supported us along the way as well as a chance to let new friends know what we’ve been up to and where we hope to go next.

Back in August we put on an event called Banquäla 2009. If you’ve been following us or this blog for very long you know a lot about it already. It featured a night of conversation, food, and some great thoughts on media from some great folks we know. If you missed out and have been wondering what was said, now’s your chance. On August 1st we’re having an event. We’re calling it Banquäla; it’s just a funny little word we made up. It will be the first in a series of annual events we hope to have every year to let you guys hear and see a little more about what we do. Even more than that we want to let you in on a conversation about the potential of media change the world.

I think the title about sums it up. It’s the day before. We’re almost there. Everyone’s fired up with excitement to get to share Anne and Stephanie’s story with the world. I hope that you’re going to be there. And you. Yup…You. Tomorrow…6:30. Be there…I’ll be waiting to meet you and tell you all about Haiti and what you can do to start changing the world less than 2 hours from your own backyard.
